Talsim 5 uses the SQLite database format to store datasets. Older Talsim 4 databases, which use the Microsoft Access format, can be converted to the Talsim 5 format using the TalsimNG4To5 Migration Tool.
This tool converts all datasets (scenarios) contained in a Talsim 4 database to the Talsim 5 format. The conversion process may take a considerable amount of time. Therefore, if you only need to convert specific scenarios, it is advisable to delete any unnecessary scenarios from the Talsim 4 database before starting the conversion. (Be sure to create a backup first.)
Steps to perform the conversion:
1.Start the migration tool, then select the Talsim 4 database (*_data.mdb) you want to convert.
2.Optional: Enable the Copy simulation results option. If activated, the tool will attempt to copy and convert any existing simulation results (*.wlzip files) to the selected target directory.
3.Select a target directory for the conversion. This is where the converted Talsim 5 database (*.db) — and, if applicable, the converted simulation results — will be saved.
4.Click the Migrate button and wait for the process to complete.
Once the migration is finished, you can open the converted database in Talsim 5.
