A simulation is automatically created in the system administration if you create a variant create new, copy or import. When creating a new variant, an empty simulation is created, whereas when copying and importing a variant, the settings (e.g. simulation period) of the original simulation are taken over. To add a new simulation to an existing simulation in a variant, you can either create a create new simulation or you can add an already existing simulation copy and paste.
